Preschool Zoo Trip
Thursday, April 11

On Thursday, April 11, Miss Abigail and Mrs. Gibbs will be taking the two oldest preschool classes to the zoo for the morning! Please have your student at school by 8:30, and we will return by 12:30 to eat a quick lunch before nap time. If your student is in one of these classes, but not scheduled to attend on Thursday, please feel free to join us! We will provide admission tickets for all students in these classes. However, students not scheduled to attend on Thursdays will need to be accompanied by a parent. More info to come!

Portland Public School Closure Day

Portland Public Schools will be closed Friday, April 12 for teacher planning. Please contact the office if you are planning to have your elementary student attend.

Recycling Fundraiser for Charity
April 15-19

As part of our Recycling curriculum, we will encourage students to bring refundable cans and bottles to recycle, and we will donate this money to a non-profit cause. Last year, we were able to provide a sustainable source of food and income for families in a third world country by purchasing a fruit tree and some chicks from foodforthepoor.org.

Upcoming Events

Preschool Pet Week
March 18-22, 8:30-8:45 am

Preschool students may sign up to bring a pet to morning music time. (See the sign up sheet in the front hallway.) For the safety of our students, please be sure that any pets you bring are friendly and in good health. Also, please no reptiles, frogs, baby chicks, or ferrets, as these animals are prohibited by the Oregon Rules for Certified Child Care Centers. A parent must accompany the animal during sharing time and must then remove the animal at the end of morning music time (8:45).

If your child has severe animal allergies or fear of animals, please talk to your child's teacher so that we can be prepared to accommodate your child's needs during Pet Week.

Grandparent's Day has been rescheduled!
Tuesday, March 26, 8:30 - 10:00

Grandparent's Day has been rescheduled to Tuesday, March 26th. Each student is welcome to bring up to 2 grandparents or special guests to join them for a morning of preschool. They will join us for morning music time, circle time, and morning snack. If your student does not normally attend on Tuesdays, he or she is welcome to come with a grandparent or special guest during this event (8:30 - 10:00). Please sign up in the front hall so we know how many guests to expect.

This is primarily a preschool event. If grandparents want to visit students in the Infant or Wobbler Rooms, they are welcome to do so, but there will not be any special arrangements for guests that day.
