December Newsletter

Holiday Closures

Sunshine School will be CLOSED on the following days this holiday season:

·  Tuesday 12/24 for Christmas Eve
·  Wednesday 12/25 for Christmas Day
·  Wednesday 1/1 for New Year’s Day

There will be an attendance sheet available for Infants and Wobblers in their classrooms, and for all preschool students in the front hallway. Please take the time to indicate “Yes” or “No” for each of your student’s scheduled days during the holiday weeks. This will be a great help to us as we plan staffing during the holidays.

If your Sprout student will be attending Sprout during the Portland Public School winter break, please contact the office to arrange these attendance dates in advance.

Inclement Weather Reminder

It’s getting cold outside, and we wanted to remind families of our inclement weather policy. Should weather conditions prove questionable, Sunshine School will generally follow Portland Public School District’s late opening and closures. The Director has the final authority to determined Sunshine School’s status, and information will be made available on Sunshine School’s voicemail system, as well as by email to parents. Parents are advised to call the school if conditions are questionable. If Portland Public Schools have two hour delay due to weather, Sunshine School will open at 9:00 am. In the event that weather conditions worsen after Sunshine School has already opened for the day, parents will be individually contacted regarding early closure. Please be certain that Sunshine School has adequate emergency contact information in the office.

Christmas Program
Friday 12/13 @ 6:30 pm

All of our Sunshine and Sprout families are invited to come see our Christmas Program! All students in the preschool program are practicing their songs and are encouraged to be at the program to participate on stage. Invite your family and friends to come see this fun and charming performance – you won’t want to miss it! Preschool students should be in their classrooms by 6:15.
